Why Peninsula?

At Peninsula, it’s more than just a leading provider of HR and health & safety services, we’re a dynamic global organization committed to empowering businesses and our people to thrive. Founded in 1983 and now supporting over 150,000 clients through 14 operating companies across the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

But what truly sets Peninsula apart is the meritocracy model: a culture where hard work, talent, and results are recognized and rewarded, creating opportunities for everyone to grow and succeed based on their contributions.

I joined as a Business Intelligence Analyst, a junior role on £37,000 / C$66,600, but I’ve been promoted every 2 years since being in the business.

This is the unique opportunity that Peninsula provides.

Business Intelligence Analyst

In 2013, I began my career as a Business Intelligence Analyst, focusing on SQL reporting and SSRS to deliver insightful data visualizations. I handled extensive Salesforce integration tasks, ensuring seamless data flow between systems, while also providing critical support for the newly rolled out Salesforce platform to optimize its adoption and functionality across the organization.

Finance Analyst

In 2013, I transitioned from IT to Finance as an Analyst, immediately diving into supporting a key business acquisition. This evolved into my core focus on mergers and acquisitions, while I led transformative projects to digitize the Finance function—including replacing ledger platforms and payment approval systems.

Group Information Officer

In 2014, I’m promoted to Group Information Officer, spearheading the construction of a new data warehouse that collated data from 20 disparate systems, with intra-day refreshes enabling near real-time reporting. I also led implementation of a Group HR and Payroll system and acted as Agile product owner for a bespoke client contracts and recurring billing platform, architecting its functional design, API specification, and SQL data schema for the web application built in .NET and AngularJS with a small team of developers.

Senior Vice President IT & Finance

In 2017, as Senior Vice President IT & Finance, I joined a four-person team to launch Peninsula’s Canadian operations, building a greenfield cloud architecture from scratch using Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and SaaS solutions for zero-footprint, mobile-first enterprise IT with Azure ADDS and Citrix Cloud security. I architected a declarative Salesforce Lightning Sales and Service Cloud deployment integrated with telephony, Marketo, Docusign, and bespoke billing, driving 98% adoption across web and mobile. Ahead of launch, I implemented Microsoft Modern Desktop with Windows 10, Intune, and conditional access for SSO and compliance. I also rolled out the InContact contact centre on RingCentral PBX, designed resilient Cisco Meraki networks with ExpressRoute links, project-managed the $1.5 million construction of a 17,500 sq. ft. office in downtown Toronto, and oversaw £30M in investments and RFP processes

Group Head of Growth

In 2019, I returned to England as Group Head of Growth, reporting directly to founder and owner Peter Done for the first time. I led digital transformation initiatives in data engineering and business intelligence, designing and implementing data pipelines to integrate the Group’s 11 operating companies and deliver holistic C-Suite oversight of global operations. Amid COVID-19, I accelerated the rollout of multiple SaaS solutions to enable distanced digital selling of B2B subscription contracts by field-based sales teams worldwide.

Chief Executive Officer (Ireland)

In 2022, I took over leadership of Peninsula Ireland and Graphite HRM, driving explosive growth by increasing sales from €13M to €23M in the first year through strategic initiatives and enhanced client services. I doubled the space in our Dublin office to accommodate expansion, while fostering independence by building a robust local management team and establishing key functions including Inside Sales, Finance, and Marketing, effectively removing reliance on Peninsula UK operations and positioning the Irish arm for sustained regional success.

Chief Executive Officer (Canada)

In late 2023, I boarded a flight after selling my home in the UK and bidding farewell to Europe. I am CEO of Peninsula Canada and BrightHR Canada. We’re doing amazingly, and the team is thriving. Watch this space as we transform the landscape of business services in North America.
