J Parker I-595 roadway model rebuild

Completed a model rebuild for J Parker & Associates supporting the I-595 Corridor Roadway Improvements Project in Florida.

Constructed a 40 year DCF model with quarterly granularity under the Excel 2007 XLSM format. Model required learning and understanding of TIFIA facilities, FAP loans and other US specific accounting mechanics.

The newsletter archive was implemented in PHP with HTML e-mail newsletters.
The secure downloads library was implemented as a customisation to phpBB.
Video tutorials using Flowplayer and ScreenCast.
Public project database and events calendar were integrated as an extension to the existing ASPX .NET 2.0 CMS.
Jobs board was implemented using a WordPress blog.
Online booking process was a custom shopping card implemented from scratch in ASPX .NET 2.0 using the HSBC CPI payment gateway.

Financial Mechanics Ltd – Analyst

Was hired by John Richter to join the City of London office of Financial Mechanics in the role of Analyst. Working directly under Kenny Whitelaw-Jones, Managing Director Europe.

Financial Mechanics builds financial models and teaches its clients financial modelling through regularly scheduled training courses available worldwide. Clients included 9 of the top 10 global banks, more than 30 smaller commercial banks and 6 of the top 8 accounting firms.

Although I originally joined Financial Mechanics as an analyst to support model build projects and as a teaching assistant for courses that the company holds across the globe, my role quickly expanded to encompass most technical aspects of day to day company development. My skills in programming were quickly recognised and I became solely responsible for any Visual Basic required in model builds, and my website development skills were used to expand the company website and develop new technologies to assist in teaching.
